Welcome to Mancini di Lucca Winery. Our hope is to help you experience great wine with your friends and family.

The MDL wine (and food) journey began with inspiration from my family in Lucca, which is in the Tuscany region of Italy. My cousin, Giulio, is a caretaker for a small property in Lucca that has about an acre of grapes and a cantina below the main level of the house. You can get a real sense for how wine was made over the last few centuries in Italy from visiting these small farm producers. My late uncle, Franco, helped us to experience and appreciate both great food and wine during our regular visits to his home near McLaren Park in San Francisco. And, for over two decades, my parents, Umberto and Piera, helped me to appreciate what it means to deliver great quality and a friendly atmosphere to our Italia Delicatessen customers in San Jose.

This inspired me to start making wine in 2009, get my certificate in Winemaking from UC Davis in 2017 and launch Mancini di Lucca Winery commercially in 2018.

I hope you love my wines and more importantly have amazing experiences with your friends and family while enjoying a bit of Italian inspiration.
